Coorparoo
It was important for our client to have a home that felt light and inviting, whilst still referencing the character of the striking architecturally-designed home that showcases a palette made up of stone, cement, bricks, timber and steel.
The result is a contemporary interior designed to enjoy for many years to come.
To accomplish this balance of light and depth, tactile materials such as woven linen, jute and wool were celebrated in addition to leather and timber.
Gallery
Our Coorparoo client had just moved into a striking architect-designed home, built from a strong palette of stone, concrete, brick, timber, and steel. They knew furnishing it would be tricky, and the brief was clear: fit the furniture in smartly, without overwhelming the rooms, and make the house feel light and inviting while still referencing its character. We looked after the furniture, artwork, soft furnishings, and styling for the whole house.
Living Spaces
To balance light and depth, we leaned on tactile materials: woven linen, jute, and wool, alongside leather and timber. A charcoal modular sofa and a round oak coffee table sit on a wool rug, and the two resident cavoodles clearly approve (they know a good rug when they see one!). Opt for a round coffee table in a room with a modular sofa - there are no corners to walk into, and it softens all the straight lines.
Elsewhere, a curved cream media unit sits on the herringbone floors, topped with a pedestal bowl and a few books. We love the curve against the home's hard materials. A glass-fronted cabinet is styled with books, a stone vessel, and glassware, so it reads as a display and not as storage.
Courtyard
The courtyard is backed by a green wall, so the furniture didn't need to work hard. A pale outdoor sofa and a dark round table do the job, and the planting does the rest. It's the spot for a coffee on a Sunday morning.
I knew that furnishing my new house would be tricky and needed some help to fit furniture in the space in a way that was smart and didn't overwhelm the rooms. The process with Jess and Elisha was seamless from start to finish. They helped me furnish the whole house. The end result was better than I could have ever imagined. They have helped make my house a home! Couldn't recommend them more!
